AIRBNB TRIPS

On November 17, 2016, Airbnb unveiled the most significant development in its eight year history, moving beyond accommodations with the launch of Trips – a new platform designed to bring together where you stay, what you do, and the people you meet along the way. The new Airbnb app launched the same day with three key areas: Experiences, Places and Homes, with flights and services to be added in the future.

As product marketing lead, it was my job to help introduce Trips to the world by producing the reveal film shown in CEO Brian Chesky's Airbnb Open keynote at the historic Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Brian then teased an exciting vision for the future of Homes with another crowd-pleasing film I produced. To our delight, shortly after the announcement, the New York Times wrote "[Airbnb] has unveiled its most ambitious endeavor yet...and the company says car rentals, grocery deliveries and even flights are in the works, further propelling Airbnb toward being a full-fledged travel company."

But that wasn't even the half of it. Only six weeks on the job, in October I got to work on a series of marketing films designed to educate and excite consumers about several new products and programs announced that day. The assets, which were developed in partnership with the talented teams at Bokeh and Koto, were leveraged for Airbnb Open keynotes, social and YouTube, paid media, and more – amassing over 10M views. Here's a selection from the twenty films we made.
